Business Training
Colt was raised by his parents, Phil and Judy White, and had the opportunity to work with his father in the automotive industry for over 25 years. Twenty-three of those years Colt worked in two family owned automotive dealerships, one in Payson and one in Star Valley. Colt finished out his career in the dealership as a successful Parts and Service Director managing an average of 10 employees.
Community Minded
Colt has served his community in various ways over the years. He became a certified Police Officer and served as a reserve Police Officer for the Payson Police Department. Later he joined the Gila County Sheriff’s Office also as a reserve Deputy and then became a full time Deputy serving for more than 18 years in law enforcement.
Law Enforcement Training and Experience
Within law enforcement you have the opportunity to serve in different areas of specialization. Colt has served as an agent in the Gila County Narcotics Task Force, Assistant Coordinator for Gila County Search and Rescue in Northern Gila County and a diver for the Gila County Dive Recovery team. Colt is also a certified commercial pilot and has used these skills to assist the County in various operations.
The Decision
The Constable’s Office is another area of specialization that is not appointed or assigned through the Sheriff’s Office. A person must be elected for this position and when running for an elected position cannot be employed by Gila County.
It was a tough decision for Colt to leave his employment with the Sheriff’s Office and run, but he is excited to take on this next specialty in law enforcement, of which he has already had experience with during temporary assignments throughout his career with the Sheriff’s Office.
Colt feels that leaving the Sheriff’s Office to run for the Office of Constable in Northern Gila County shows his commitment to better serve the people of our community.
